Schools almost Out!!
Hi All!!
I can't wait!! I love summer break!! School's almost out!! Do you know how are you going to spend your summer?
I would like to go on a few more road trips!! Hopefully, the price of gas will fall sharply, so we can boost tourism in our country and around the world!!
Where would you like to go this summer? Do you like to fly, drive, or travel by bus or train when you travel across country. There are so many ways to see the world. Some people like to fly to places so they get to their destinations quicker and sometimes that is essential, but sometimes you want to feel the freedom of the open road and the spontaneity of taking the unbeaten path or the road, just because. I highly recommend that you keep the tanked filled if you prefer to be spontaneous on your adventures, and have a GPS and some snacks and drinks, just in case.
I haven't traveled by train for a while, but this can be a fun way to see the countryside and still enjoy family time, or a journey with friends. This can also save you money, and they are a timely option that may bring back memories of days when traveling by train was still a modern innovation, or may just love the private train cars and romanticism of the feeling of a train.
When I was 17, I graduated from high school and left home by Greyhound with my boyfriend at the time, and we moved to North Bend and then Coos Bay, Oregon. It was quite the adventure. I had always ridden the Tri-Met buses with my grandma Jean, who never drove, and did most of her traveling by bus, and it was fun to see all of the interesting people and go downtown shopping, or to the movies, or wherever we decided to go. The trip to Coos Bay was much longer, but very inexpensive. We stopped along the way in little beach towns picking up and dropping off fellow travelers. It seemed like it would take forever to get there at the time, but I look back and enjoy our journey.
My kids have yet to be on a plane, but have experienced a nice long road trip or two with their mom, and this is only the beginning, hopefully, of a long journey for me to show them the world that I've seen, and much that I haven't. So, hopefully, as we take our journeys we will cross paths and until then I hope we can share with each other some of our favorite places to take our families and interesting ways to explore life a little differently.
Some of our favorite places to explore are museums, parks, zoos, beaches, monuments, amusement parks, fairs, plays, festivals, concerts and music venues, historical places with incredible architecture history and scenery, waterfalls, lakes and rivers, the State Capitals and anywhere else that peeks our interest.
At some point, I would like to take our journey not only within American borders, but also to our nearest neighbors and abroad. I would like to experience, and have my children experience live outside the U.S. and have a chance to choose where they want to live, work, and raise their own families someday.
What is your favorite place to take your children, on a budget?? without one??
Start planning early, get all set, and explore with your kids!! Let me know where you went and what your favorite and not-so favorite parts of your trip were!!
SugarKisses!!
